Luna Chung

Ph.D. Student

Luna Chung is a PhD Candidate in Gender and Women’s Studies. She is a first-generation graduate born in a refugee camp. At the University of Arizona, Luna has curated the university’s first Queer & Trans People of Color (QTPOC) lending library housed at the Institute for LGBT Studies. In addition, she helped launch the first undergraduate minor in Asian Pacific American studies. Currently, she is writing her dissertation, “(Un)making Refugee,” that thinks through how the legal figure of the refugee is predicated on a negation of Blackness.
