About Carol Galper Ph.D.

Dr. Carol Galper’s interests include rural health, public health, social justice, the medically underserved, HIV education and advocacy, and LGBT issues. She serves as the faculty advisor for MedPride at the College of Medicine, where she is also the Assistant Dean for Medical Student Education.  She has responsibility for the Rural Health Professions Program, the Commitment to Underserved People (CUP) service-learning program and curricular “threads” content areas of the medical school curriculum. She is Principal Investigator of the Arizona AIDS Education and Training Center in the Department of Family and Community Medicine providing HIV related education, training, technical assistance and capacity building to health professionals throughout Arizona.
Dr. Galper is interested in supporting work in health profession shortage areas, in encouraging medical practice in underserved areas, and in helping medical students stay involved in service to the community. She works with medical students, premedical students, and graduate students and is pleased to mentor those with similar interests.
