Judy Nolte Temple is the author of 'A Secret to be Burried': The Diary and Life of Emily Hawley Gillespie, 1858-1888 (under surname Lensink) and has edited to two volumes of essays about Southwestern Literature and Cultures. She teaches an undergraduate course on Women in Literature that traces the history of the "apprenticeship" quest for women. Temple's graduate courses include Women's Journals and Women's Narratives of the West. She recently published a book, "Baby Doe Tabor: The Madwoman in the Cabin." Temple is President of the Western Literature Association.
